STAIR Best Paper Award

The STAIR Best Paper award recognises outstanding work within the fields of Science, Technology and Art in IR carried out by graduate students. The award is given to the best paper presented at the preceding annual ISA annual convention.

Recipients must meet the Following Criteria

  1. Nominees must be graduate students at the time of their presenting the paper nominated for the award. - Papers under consideration for the prize must have been presented at the ISA annual convention of the preceding years to that in which the prize is awarded.


  • The recipient will receive the award, a plaque and $250 at the section meeting during the ISA Annual Convention.

  • Nominations and self-nominations are to be sent to - A full copy of the paper as presented at the convention must be provided alongside a statement of support and explanation of the particular excellence of the paper vis-a-vis the themes and interests of STAIR.
  • The application deadline is September 20th.
