J. David Singer Book Award

Following discussion at the 2010 region meeting at the annual ISA-Midwest conference, the ISA-Midwest Board approved this award. The first award was given at the 2011 ISA-Midwest conference. This biennial award is given to the author (or co-authors) of an outstanding book published in the previous three years (no edited volumes)

General Information

Recipients must meet the Following Criteria

  1. Recipients must be a current member of ISA.
  2. The author(s) must be a member of the ISA Midwest or have attended the conference in the previous five years.
  3. The nomination must be made by an ISA Midwest member (self-nominations accepted).

Prize

  • The recipient receives a framed ISA certificate, $200 check and recognition at the annual meeting.

Selection Process

  • This award is given every other year to the author (or co-authors) of an outstanding book published in the previous three years (no edited volumes).

  • Nominations for the 2019 award should be sent to Carla Martinez Machain (carlamm@ksu.edu) no later than December 31st, 2018 (books published in 2016, 2017, 2018 will be eligible).
