IO Distinguished Senior Scholar Award

The Distinguished Senior Scholar Award was created to recognize senior scholars of exceptional merit whose influence, intellectual works and mentorship will likely continue to impact the field for years to come. Former/current colleagues and students will be invited to be on a roundtable honoring the awardee at the ISA Annual Convention. The roundtable generally precedes the IO Section reception at the convention.

General Information

Recipients must meet the Following Criteria

  1. Recipients must be a current member of ISA.
  2. Award recipients must be able to attend the 2020 ISA Annual Convention in Hawaii where the awardee will be honored in a panel and at a reception.
  3. Nominations (including self-nominations) should include a short narrative touching on the qualities listed above and current cv.
  4. Prize

    • Certificate

    Selection Process

    • The committee is especially interested in scholars who have a history of attending ISA meetings.

  • The next call for nominations will be in the Spring of 2019.
  • Please forward nomination materials to each committee member by e-mail.
  • Deadline for nominations: 1 June 2019

Representing over 100 countries, ISA has more than 6,500 members worldwide and is the most respected and widely known scholarly association in this field. Endeavoring to create communities of scholars dedicated to international studies, ISA is divided into 7 geographic subdivisions of ISA (Regions), 29 thematic groups (Sections) and 4 Caucuses which provide opportunities to exchange ideas and research with local colleagues and within specific subject areas.
