GSC Distinguished Scholar Award

The Global South Caucus Distinguished Scholar Award is given annually in recognition of the recipient’s exceptional and sustained contribution to global South international studies, as defined within the context of the ISA and reflected in the scholar’s teaching, published work, and policy contributions. The award rotates yearly through global South regions, broadly conceived as Africa/Middle East, Asia/Eurasia, and Latin America/Caribbean. If the recipient is able to attend the ISA Annual Convention at which the award is given, s/he will be expected to give a brief address (of approximately 15 minutes) to GSCIS members during the award ceremony.   In seeking to promote scholarship from the global South, preference will be given to nominated South scholars.
