ENMISA Emerging Scholar Award

The ENMISA Emerging Scholar Award recognizes outstanding early career scholar from any discipline who have made a significant contribution to the field of ethnicity, nationalism, or migration studies.

  1. Recipients must be current members of ISA.
  2. Nominee must be within 5-8 years of receiving their PhD at the time of ISA 2022.
  3. Nominee must have a record of publication and/or professional activity that has demonstrated their work to be significant.
  • The winner will receive a plaque at the ENMISA Business Meeting of the ISA Convention.
  • The award committee, comprising three ENMISA members designated by the ENMISA Executive Committee, ensures that the nominations fit the award criteria and assess the contribution made by the nominees.
  • The committee reserves the right not to extend the award.
  • The awardee receives the award at the ENMISA Business Meeting of the ISA Convention.
  • Nominations need to be accompanied by a nomination letter, written by the nominee or a scholar other than the nominee and the nominee's curriculum vitae that highlights in which ways the nominee’s scholarship and/or professional activity makes a contribution to the fields in question.
  • If you are nominating a scholar, please make sure to have the nominee's consent first.
  • To nominate or self-nominate,  please send nominations to the committee chair before August 15, 2021.
