ENMISA Best Article & Chapter Award

The ENMISA Best Article & Chapter Award recognizes outstanding journal articles or stand alone book chapters published in edited volumes from any discipline advancing our understanding of ethnicity, nationalism, and/or migration.

  1. Recipient must be a current member of ISA.
  2. The article or chapter must have been published (i.e., printed) in the two calendar years prior to the year of the annual convention where the award will be presented (for example, to be eligible for the award to be presented at the 2023 annual convention, publications must have been published in 2021 or 2022).
  3. Co-authored publications also qualify and at least one of the authors needs to be ENMISA members.
  4. Self-nominations are encouraged. If nominating a third party, nominators must have the consent of the nominee and inform the award committee in their nomination letter.
  • A certificate is awarded to the recipient.
  • The award committee, comprising three ENMISA members designated by the ENMISA Executive Committee, ensures that the nominations fit the award criteria and assess the scholarly quality of the publications.
  • The committee reserves the right not to extend the award.
  • The awardee receives the award at the ENMISA Business Meeting of the ISA Convention.
  • To nominate or self-nominate a publication, send an electronic copy of the article/paper to all committee members before October 1, 2022.
