Theory Section 2015 Award Winners

The Theory Section is pleased to announce the winners of their book and paper awards for 2015. All of the awards will be conferred at the Theory Section business meeting at the ISA Annual Convention 2016 in Atlanta.

Carl Beck Award

The Carl Beck Award is presented to a graduate student for an original paper that deals with traditional concerns in new and interesting ways or with emergent international conditions and problems. Nominations are due by October 20, 2015.

Courage Award

The Courage Award recognizes an activist or engaged scholar from the community where the annual meeting is located. Nominees will be individuals or organizations addressing issues of concern to LGBTQ communities and sexual minorities globally, and that are the focus of the research and writing of caucus members. Nominations are due by October 23, 2015.

LGBTQA Scholar Award

This award recognizes individuals whose scholarship or teaching and mentoring serve as a model for the integration within international studies of subjects of concern to LGBTQ communities or those incorporating theoretical and empirical perspectives on sexuality and gender. Nominations are due by October 23, 2015.

ISA-West is now accepting submissions for their 2015 Faculty, Graduate and Undergraduate Paper Awards. The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2015.

ISA's Political Demography and Geography Section invites nominations for the Jacek Kugler Political Demography and Geography Student Paper Award. The award to recognizes the best paper with a political demography and geography theme presented at the ISA Annual Convention. Nominations are due by October 31, 2015.
