ISA-Hong Kong 2017 - Call for Proposals

ISA is pleased to announce the ISA International Conference 2017, Hong Kong. The joint ISA-HKU Conference is scheduled for June 15th - 18th, 2017 at the Hong Kong University in Hong Kong. The deadline for paper, panel, roundtable and innovative panel submissions is October 1, 2016.

ISR: Call for Applications

The Publications Committee of the International Studies Association along with the Association's Executive Committee will make a recommendation to the organization's Governing Council regarding the assignment of editorial duties for International Studies Review at the 2017 Annual Meeting in Baltimore. Applications should be received no later than September 15, 2016.

Rosenau Post-Doctoral Fellowship

ISA invites applications from junior scholars for the James N. Rosenau Postdoctoral Fellowship. The competition is open to scholars in the social sciences and humanities who have received their Ph.D. within the past two years, that is, between July 1, 2015 and July 1, 2017. The deadline for applications is November 1, 2016.

*NEW* Creative Teaching and Course Design Workshop

ISA is pleased to announce a new professional development opportunity taking place at the Annual Convention in 2017. This full-day teaching workshop will be held on the Tuesday before the annual conference and is open to all ISA members. Conference participants interested in this program will have the opportunity to sign up when they register for the Annual Convention.

Working Groups Application

We are excited to announce that we are sponsoring three Working Groups at the upcoming ISA 2017 Annual Convention in Baltimore, Maryland. Working Groups offer attendees a forum for dialogue and interaction around designated issue areas. Participation in ISA Working Groups is open and free to all ISA members. The application for participation opens September 19, 2016 and closes September 30, 2016.

Career Courses

The ISA Career Course program provides opportunities for conference participants to learn a new skill, or hone an old skill, while attending the convention. 2017 Career Courses include: How to Successfully Use Participatory Methods in Formal Education, Case Writing and Case Teaching in International Relations, and Intelligence Analysis as Discovery of Evidence, Hypotheses, and Arguments: Connecting the Dots. Registration for Career Courses will open when the program is released on September 16th.

ISA is now accepting reservations for meetings, receptions, and non-panel events for the ISA 2017 convention. The deadline for submissions and catering orders is November 1, 2016. Heisler Award

The Ethnicity, Nationalism and Migration Section (ENMISA) Martin O. Heisler Award Selection Committee invites nominations and submissions for the section's annual graduate student paper competition. A nomination letter, abstract, and an electronic copy of the paper should be sent via email by September 15, 2016 to each committee member.

The J. Ann Tickner Award Committee welcomes nominations for the 2017 J. Ann Tickner Award. The award honors a member of ISA who, like Professor Tickner, has consistently combined bravery with pursuit of high-quality and pioneering scholarship pushing the boundaries of the discipline while also showing a deep commitment to service, particularly teaching and mentoring of students and younger scholars in the field.
