ISP Publishing English and Spanish Language Abstracts

International Studies Perspectives has begun publishing English and Spanish language abstracts for all its articles. As of November 2017, there are eight articles in Advance Access with Spanish abstracts, and Vol. 19, No. 1 (February 2018) will be the first print issue to feature Spanish abstracts.

The deadline for submitting a proposal for our upcoming FLACSO-ISA Joint International Conference, is fast approaching! FLACSO Quito is scheduled for July 25th - 27th, 2018 and paper, panel and roundtable submissions related to all areas of international studies and world politics are welcome. Looking for Good Ideas: Submit to the Professional Resource Center

The Association is in the process of developing its Professional Resource Center (PRC) to better serve you. As part of this initiative, we would like to invite you to share syllabi, reading lists and/or class lesson plans that will be made available in the pedagogy area of our PRC. We are especially interested in receiving materials that are related to our ISA Sections, but welcome other International Studies materials as well (e.g. general introductory course syllabi). The deadline to withdraw from the ISA 2018 program is December 1, 2017. Participants who withdraw after this deadline will be penalized by not being allowed to participate on the ISA 2019 program.

ISA 2018 Childcare Services

ISA is pleased to continue our partnership with Kiddie Corp at the 2018 Annual Convention in San Francisco, CA. Program services are available only to ISA members on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-members who wish to participate in the child care program must first join ISA before submitting a registration. Career Courses

We are pleased to announce that the application process to take part in ISA's 2018 Career Courses opened September 21st. Career Course participation is on a first come, first served basis and is an elective "add on" during the 2018 Annual Convention registration process. These courses always elicit more interest than space available, so we encourage you to register for a course as soon as you are able. ISA Regions, Sections and affiliate groups are invited to host a workshop, business meeting or reception during the ISA 2018 Annual Convention. All events will be held at either Hilton San Francisco Union Square or the Parc 55. Meeting space is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Anyone in need of reserving meeting room space or catering can now do so through our convention home page under the section "For Affiliates."

2017 Bertha Lutz Prize

The Diplomatic Studies Section (DPLST) of the International Studies Association (ISA) invites nominations for the inaugural Bertha Lutz Prize. In 2017 the DPLST, in cooperation with the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at SOAS – University of London, established the prize to award a scholar who is considered to be conducting the highest quality public writing and research on women in diplomacy, defined broadly. The 2017 prize will be awarded at the 2018 ISA conference in San Francisco, CA. The deadline to apply is December 31, 2017.

DPLST Article Award

The Diplomatic Studies Section is honoring the article that best advances the theoretical and empirical study of diplomacy. We especially welcome those articles that attempt to connect the study of diplomacy with broader issues and trends in the discipline.The deadline to apply is December 31, 2017 .
