ISA Officer Election

ISA announces the start of elections for our new officers, including the President, Vice Presidents and At-Large Representatives to ISA's Governing Council. The ISA officer election for the 2017-2018 term opened November 5th and will close on December 5th. ISA's Constitution requires a 15% turnout in order for the election to be valid.

ISA is delighted to co-host the CEEISA-ISA Joint Conference, which takes place in Ljubljana on June 23-25, 2016. Please be sure to get your proposals in before the December 1, 2015 deadline. We look forward to an exciting conference!

The publishing of ISA journals will transition to Oxford University Press on January 1, 2016. To receive notification when new content is published in an ISA Journal, sign up for OUP's Journal Alerting Services.

Call for Applicants - James N. Rosenau Postdoctoral Scholar Fellowship

ISA invites applications from junior scholars for the James N. Rosenau Postdoctoral Fellowship. The competition is open to scholars in the social sciences and humanities who have received their Ph.D. within the past two years, that is, between July 1, 2015 and July 1, 2016. The deadline for applications is January 15, 2016.

Status of Women in International Studies Survey

The Committee on the Status of Women (CSW) and the Women’s Caucus (WC), with the support of ISA HQ, are asking all ISA members to take part in a survey to assess the status of women within the fields of international studies. A similar instrument was sent to all ISA members in 1995 and 2005. With this 2015 survey, the CSW and WC aim to conduct updated analyses of the experiences and attitudes of members related to the status of women in the international studies profession. The survey is now open and will close December 8. All members are encouraged to complete this important survey.

Convention Updates

ISA 2016 Withdrawal Deadline

The deadline to withdraw from the ISA 2016 program is December 1, 2015. Participants who withdraw after this deadline will be penalized by not being allowed to participate on the ISA 2017 program.

Call for Nominations - DPLST Article Award

The Diplomatic Studies Section is honoring the article that best advances the theoretical and empirical study of diplomacy. We especially welcome those articles that attempt to connect the study of diplomacy with broader issues and trends in the discipline.The award is presented to the author(s) of the article at the ISA 2016. Electronic submission of PDFs of articles should be submitted to the committee chair, Antoneta Vanc. The submission deadline is December 31, 2015.

Open for Submissions - DPLST Book Prize

The Diplomatic Studies Section is now accepting submissions for the DPLST biennial book prize. This biennial award is presented to the author(s) of the book that best advances the theoretical and empirical study of diplomacy. We especially welcome books that attempt to connect the study of diplomacy with broader issues and trends in the discipline. The submission deadline is December 31, 2015. Electronic versions of books are preferred and if available should be emailed to the committee chair, Antoneta Vanc.
