ISA Officer Election Results

Thank you to all who participated in the recent election for the 2019-2020 ISA Governing Council Officer Election. The election was held Sunday, November 5 through Tuesday, December 5, 2017 through ISA's online voting system. We are pleased to announce the newly elected officers for the 2019-2020 term:

Oxford Research Encyclopedia of International Studies

We have joined together with Oxford University Press to revitalize The International Studies Encyclopedia as a part of the Oxford Research Encyclopedia program. Substantive, peer-reviewed, and regularly updated, the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of International Studies combines the speed and flexibility of digital with the rigorous standards of academic publishing. Led by Renée Marlin-Bennett (John Hopkins University), this is a born-digital academic tool that satisfies contemporary research needs.

ISP Publishing English and Spanish Language Abstracts

International Studies Perspectives has begun publishing English and Spanish language abstracts for all its articles. As of November 2017, there are eight articles in Advance Access with Spanish abstracts, and Vol. 19, No. 1 (February 2018) will be the first print issue to feature Spanish abstracts.

FLACSO Quito 2018: Submission Deadline Approaching!

The deadline for submitting a proposal for our upcoming FLACSO-ISA Joint International Conference is fast approaching! FLACSO Quito is scheduled for July 25th - 27th, 2018 and paper, panel and roundtable submissions related to all areas of international studies and world politics are welcome. The deadline to submit proposals is December 15, 2017.

Looking for Good Ideas: Submit to the Professional Resource Center

The Association is in the process of developing its Professional Resource Center (PRC) to better serve you. As part of this initiative, we would like to invite you to share syllabi, reading lists and/or class lesson plans that will be made available in the pedagogy area of our PRC. We are especially interested in receiving materials that are related to our ISA Sections, but welcome other International Studies materials as well (e.g. general introductory course syllabi). ISA 2018 Make Your Hotel Reservation Today!

ISA is pleased to continue our partnership with Kiddie Corp at the 2018 Annual Convention in San Francisco, CA. Program services are available only to ISA members on a first-come, first-served basis. We are pleased to announce that the application process to take part in ISA's 2018 Career Courses opened September 21st. Career Course participation is on a first come, first served basis and is an elective "add on" during the 2018 Annual Convention registration process. These courses always elicit more interest than space available, so we encourage you to register for a course as soon as you are able. EISA Call for Papers

We invite ISA members to participate in the 12th Pan-European Conference on International Relations. Participants are encouraged to submit proposals in line with the conference theme as well as porposals from all sub-fields of International Studies, and from the other branches of the social sciences that are concerned with similar questions and themes. This opportunity is one of ISA ongoing collaborations with other societies around the world. We hope you will consider submitting a proposal.

2017 Bertha Lutz Prize

The Diplomatic Studies Section (DPLST) of the International Studies Association (ISA) invites nominations for the inaugural Bertha Lutz Prize. In 2017 the DPLST, in cooperation with the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at SOAS – University of London, established the prize to award a scholar who is considered to be conducting the highest quality public writing and research on women in diplomacy, defined broadly. The 2017 prize will be awarded at the 2018 ISA conference in San Francisco, CA. The deadline to apply is December 31, 2017.
