ISA Officer Election Results

Thank you to all who participated in the recent election for the 2017-2018 ISA Governing Council Officer Election. The election was held Thursday, November 5 - Saturday, December 5, 2015 through ISA's online voting system. We are pleased to announce the newly elected officers for the 2017-2018 term:

Call for Applicants - James N. Rosenau Postdoctoral Scholar Fellowship

ISA invites applications from junior scholars for the James N. Rosenau Postdoctoral Fellowship. The competition is open to scholars in the social sciences and humanities who have received their Ph.D. within the past two years, that is, between July 1, 2014 and July 1, 2016. The deadline for applications is January 15, 2016.

In Memoriam - Mary Ann Tétreault

We are deeply saddened to announce that Mary Ann Tétreault, the emeritus Una Chapman Cox Distinguished Professor of International Affairs at Trinity University, passed away on November 11 in Newport, Vt. She was 73. She is survived by her husband, Richard Tétreault, and two sons, Charles and Paul.

Status of Women in International Studies Survey - Last Call

We invite you to take part in an important survey to assess the status of women within the fields of international studies. This survey is being sent to all ISA members under the sponsorship of the Committee on the Status of Women (CSW) and the Women's Caucus (WCIS), with the support of ISA Headquarters. The online survey is now open and has been extended to December 11, 2015. We estimate that it will take about 20 minutes to complete. Your responses are critical to us. The CEEISA-ISA submission deadline is fast approaching! We are delighted by the overwhelming interest in the Ljubljana conference and the breadth of proposals submitted thus far. Due to the holidays, we want to make sure that everyone has equal access to the submission system, so we'll continue to accept submissions though Thursday, December 10th.

The deadline for submissions for the ISA Asia-Pacific Conference has been extended to December 15, 2015. The ISA Asia-Pacific Conference takes place in Hong Kong on June 25-27, 2016.

CISS invites proposal submissions for the ISA-CISS Conference, which will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece on June 13-15, 2016. The conference theme is "Boundaries and Borders in an Evolving World Order: Challenges and Prospects". Submissions will open shortly and the deadline is February 10, 2016.

Call for Nominations - DPLST Article Award

The Diplomatic Studies Section is honoring the article that best advances the theoretical and empirical study of diplomacy. We especially welcome those articles that attempt to connect the study of diplomacy with broader issues and trends in the discipline.The award is presented to the author(s) of the article at the ISA 2016. Electronic submission of PDFs of articles should be submitted to the committee chair, Antoneta Vanc. The submission deadline is December 31, 2015.

Open for Submissions - DPLST Book Prize

The Diplomatic Studies Section is now accepting submissions for the DPLST biennial book prize. This biennial award is presented to the author(s) of the book that best advances the theoretical and empirical study of diplomacy. We especially welcome books that attempt to connect the study of diplomacy with broader issues and trends in the discipline. The submission deadline is December 31, 2015. Electronic versions of books are preferred and if available should be emailed to the committee chair, Antoneta Vanc.

The Online Media Caucus is soliciting nominations for Online Achievement in International Studies: the best blogs, twitter accounts, and various kinds of posts. Co-sponsored by SAGE, the OAIS Awards or the Duckies will be handed out at the ISA meeting in Atlanta.
