ISA 2016 Governing Council Policy Changes

At the most recent meeting of the ISA Governing Council this past March in Atlanta, the Governing Council approved several changes to ISA Policy. The ISA Code of Conduct was revised to cover sexual harassment, bullying and other forms of unprofessional behavior from all ISA participants, rather than just members. The ISA Committee on Professional Rights and Responsiblities proposed a Conflict of Interest Policy that was approved by the Governing Council.

The International Studies Association Nominating Committee invites members of the association to nominate candidates to be considered for offices of President, Vice President, Treasurer, and At-Large Representative for 2018-2019. The ISA is strongly committed to diversity in its officers. The nomination deadline is June 15, 2016.

ISA's Newest Section: South Asia in World Politics (SAWP)

ISA is pleased to introduce our newest section: South Asia in World Politics (SAWP)! The South Asia in World Politics Section (SAWP) creates a fertile dialogue between areas such as International relations theory, comparative regionalism, foreign policy analysis, and brings in the contextual knowledge of South Asia to ISA. ISA members can join this section - and any of our other 28 sections of ISA - by adding the section to their existing membership.

Annual Convention 2017 Call for Proposals

ISA is pleased to announce our Call for Proposals for our 2017 Annual Convention in Baltimore, Maryland, USA! We invite paper, panel and roundtable submissions related to all areas of international studies and world politics. Particularly welcome are submissions related to our 2017 convention theme, Understanding Change in World Politics. Proposal submissions are now open and the proposal submission deadline is June 1, 2016.

ISA offers a number of specialty programs during the Annual Convention. These special events are intended to add variety and new opportunities for our participants. Meet your ISA:
International Political Sociology Section (IPS)

IPS aims to foster research and scholarly communication in the realm of international and transnational studies and to bridge the domestic and international levels of analysis. The Sectionís focus is on the social and cultural dimensions of international studies, broadly conceived. One of its main purposes is to foster innovative epistemological, methodological, analytic and theoretical perspectives on aspects of international studies less central to state-centered, economic, diplomatic and other traditional approaches.
