ISA-NE Awards Deadline December 31st

The Fred Hartmann Award is given each year for the best paper presented at the conference by a graduate student. The A. LeRoy Bennet Award is given each year for the best paper presented by a scholar who holds a PhD. Any paper presented at the conference can be nominated for one of the awards. Self-nominations are accepted. Nominations should be sent to Samuel Barkin at samuel.barkin@umb.edu, and should include the paper as an attachment. Nominations should be made by December 31, 2013.

ISA NE 2013: Presentation Info

If you plan to use PowerPoint or Keynote, you will need to provide your own laptop. You are also advised to bring your presentation on a USB drive as well so that panels with multiple presentations can simply use one panelists' laptop, and also so that we can more easily troubleshoot any problems that arise. We are excited to be able to provide presentation capabilities for everyone who wishes to use it, and also for the free wireless network access in all of the conference rooms. See you in Providence!

ISA NE 2013: University of Michigan Press Special Conference Attendance

Melody Herr, Senior Acquisitions Editor, University of Michigan Press, will attend the ISA Northeast on 8 and 9 November. If you would like to make an appointment to discuss a potential book project, please contact Melody[mrherr@umich.edu] no later than 4 November. Also, on Saturday, 9 November, from 4:30 - 6:00 PM, Melody will hold a mini-seminar on publishing scholarly books in State Suite B.

The Providence Biltmore has released additional rooms, and has guaranteed the special conference rate for ISA-NE for those who make reservations by Friday, October 25.

We will also have A/V equipment available for those who wish to use PowerPoint or other presentation software, provided that you indicate your interest in doing so to me by e-mail by Friday, October 25.

ISA-NE Award Winners Announced

ISA-NE announces that Paul Musgrave and Yu-Ming Liou have been awarded the Frederick Hartmann Award for the best graduate student paper and Andrew A. G. Ross received the A. Leroy Bennett award for the best paper presented by a scholar with a PhD. Congratulations! The region will make the formal presentation of the awards at the next annual ISA-NE meeting in Providence in November.
