ISA-Asia-Pacific Conference 2016 - Closing Remarks

The ISA Asia-Pacific Region Conference, The Pacific Century? The Asia-Pacific in an era of Global Transformation, was held at the City University of Hong Kong, June 25-25 2016. The program chairs were ISA Region President, Professor Giorgio Shani; Vice-President, Professor Lorraine Elliott; and the chair of the local organizing committee, Associate Professor Nick Thomas. The conference was preceded by a Professional Development workshop on June 24 organized by Professor Elliott for Early Career Researchers in the region.

ISA A-P Hong Kong 2016 - Program Updates

The ISA Asia-Pacific region conference is fast approaching and the program has now been finalized. Please see the Program here.

Kindly note that no further changes will be made.

Please make sure that you upload your paper to the online archive and 
send it to your discussant at least 5 days before the conference. There is no word limit but it is suggested that papers are 7,000 words maximum.

Kindly consult with the Chair of your panel to see how much time will be allotted for your presentation. It is recommended that presenters summarize the main arguments of their paper within 15 minutes but this depends on the number of papers on the panel. 

Greatly looking forward to welcoming you to Hong Kong later this month!

ISA A-P Hong Kong 2016 - Travel Grant Application Open

The Asia-Pacific region executive is delighted to announce that we will be making up to 10 travel grants of a maximum of $500 USD each available for registered participants of the ISA Asia-Pacific region conference to be held at City University of Hong Kong, June 25-27. Please note that these grants are different from the generous funding provided by City University of Hong Kong through its South East Asia Research Centre (SEARC).

In order to be eligible to apply for a travel grant, prospective applicants must be ISA members and registered to attend the conference by Friday April 22. Preference will be given to early career researchers (including doctoral students) presenting papers at the conference from the Asia-Pacific region, particularly those from institutions in developing areas of the region not covered by the SEARC awards. Please apply by Friday April 29 through the online application form. (Click here to access it.)

ISA Asia-Pacific Region Conference -Pre-Registration Extension

The program chairs of the ISA Asia-Pacific region conference have decided to extend the deadline for remaining on the program to Friday April 22 in order to give those participants who have not been able to register a chance to do so. If you do not register by April 22, you can still attend but will not be included in the final program. Finally, please upload your papers to the online paper archive and send to your chair and discussant at least 5 days before the conference begins. 
 
We look forward to seeing you in Hong Kong in June (25-27).
