ISA-Midwest 2020 Submission Reminder

The deadline for submitting papers, panels, and posters to the ISA Midwest 2020 conference is quickly approaching: July 24th. Here are a few reasons to submit your work:

  • The pandemic has upended your work-life balance and you are missing your ISA community
  • You missed an opportunity to get feedback at other conferences this year (so submit your paper!)
  • You have new work, but not a full paper (so submit a poster!)
  • You are a graduate student and want to network and get feedback (submit a poster or a paper!)
  • You are a junior woman+ scholar who wants to participate in Pay it Forward
  • You want to hear from ISA President Helen Milner
  • You want to hear from the Quincy Wright Scholar Awardee Dursun Peksen
  • You want to celebrate the recipient of the Teaching & Mentoring Award, John Ishiyama
  • And finally, you want to join in some of the amazing fun social activities we are planning

I look forward to reading your proposals and seeing you online this November!

International Studies Perspectives Special FORUM Invitation

International Studies Perspectives is committed to diversity, fairness, and inclusiveness and stands in solidarity against systemic racism and discrimination in academia. As part of this commitment, the editorial team invites the submission of forum proposals on racism and discrimination in academia and international studies. We are especially interested in forum proposals that feature black and minority voices and their experiences in our discipline and academia in general. We extend this invitation to elevate the voices of those who have been burdened by systemic racism, and to contribute to understanding and action on racism, discrimination and bias that takes places in the classrooms, conference rooms, departments, and offices of our universities, organizations, and professional associations.
