ISA-West Pasadena 2019: Call for Proposals

The International Studies Association West region is pleased to announce our 2019 annual conference, September 27-28, in Pasadena, California, USA. ISA-West invites paper, panel and roundtable proposals on any subject related to international studies, broadly defined.

We strongly encourage paper, panel and roundtable proposals on subjects related to this year’s continuing conference theme: Breaking Down Barriers, Dismantling Walls.



ISA Northeast Providence 2019: Call for Proposals

The annual conference of the International Studies Association-Northeast (ISA-NE) will be held on November 8-9 at the Hilton, Providence, Rhode Island. ISA-NE invites paper and panel proposals on any topic substantively related to world politics. Topics might include, or draw upon, international relations theory, international law and organizations, foreign policy, globalization, human rights, international development, conflict resolution, military/strategic studies, environmental studies, feminist and queer theory, gender studies, international political economy, international history, science and technology studies, aesthetic theory, the philosophy of science of social science, colonial and post-colonial theory, and international political sociology, among others. ISA-NE expressly welcomes research from the full range of approaches to and philosophies of international studies, including those using critical, normative, poststructuralist, postcolonial, decolonial and post-humanist lenses.



ISA-Midwest St. Louis 2019: Call for Proposals

The International Studies Association-Midwest invites proposals for papers, panels, and roundtables on any subjects related to international studies, broadly defined, for its annual meeting. The conference will be held on November 22nd-23rd at the Hilton at the Ballpark, St. Louis, Missouri, USA. The deadline for paper and panel submissions for the ISA-Midwest conference is Friday, July 12th.



ISA Announces New Editorial Teams for ISP, JoGSS, and OREIS

The International Studies Association has selected new editorial teams for two of its journals and its research encyclopedia. A team from Texas Christian University, led by James Scott, will take over responsibility for International Studies Perspectives starting January 1, 2020. A team from the University of Birmingham, UK, led by Asaf Siniver and Jamie Gaskarth, will take over responsibility for the Journal of Global Security Studies starting January 1, 2020. A team from Ohio University, led by Nukhet Sandal, will take over responsibility for the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of International Studies starting January 1, 2020. Call for Nominations - FTGS Best Graduate Student Paper Award

FTGS offers an annual award for the best feminist theory and/or gender studies graduate student paper presented at the Annual ISA Conference. The award carries a stipend of $500 and comes with a peer review by the International Feminist Journal of Politics with a prospect for publication. We are currently accepting nominations for the best paper presented at the 2019 ISA Convention in Toronto. The deadline for nominations is 21 June 2019.
