WCIS Call for Nominations to the Executive Council

The Women’s Caucus (WCIS) invites nominations (and self-nominations) for FIVE open positions on the WCIS Executive Council. The deadline for receiving nominations is February 1, 2019. Serving on the executive council is a wonderful opportunity to become involved with the Caucus, as well as ISA as a whole.

ISA Asia-Pacific Singapore 2019: Call for Proposals

The International Studies Association Asia-Pacific region invites proposals for papers, panels, and roundtables on any subjects related to international studies, broadly defined, for its 2019 conference. The theme of the conference is "Asia-Pacific and World Order: Security, Economics, Identity and Beyond". The conference will be held July 4th-6th at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. The deadline for paper and panel submissions for the ISA Asia-Pacific conference is February 8, 2019.

All proposal submissions must be made through the ISA submission software. ISA membership is not required for either proposal submission or conference attendance, though you will need to create an account with isanet.org if you do not already have one. Faculty members attending the conference may be asked to serve as chairs and/or discussants. Please indicate your areas of expertise when submitting your proposal.

ISA Statement Regarding the On-Going Academic Freedom Concerns in Turkey

The International Studies Association (ISA), the world’s largest association of scholars in the field, strongly condemns the on-going assault on academic freedom in Turkey. ISA, with many members from Turkey, sincerely calls upon the Turkish government to restore the fundamentals of academic freedom immediately and to revoke all restrictions on travel, professional activity and general scholarly conduct for Turkish academics. We also strongly oppose the summary dismissal of academics from their positions without due process.

PEACE-PHS Kent 2019: Call for Proposals

We are pleased to invite proposals for papers, panels, and roundtables for the PEACE-PHS Joint Conference 2019, taking place at Kent State University. The conference will be commemorating the May 4, 1970 shooting by the Ohio National Guard of Kent State Students during a demonstration against the US wars in Vietnam and Cambodia and the occupation of the Kent State campus by the Ohio National Guard.

The conference will be held October 24-26, 2019 at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, USA. The deadline for paper and panel submissions for the PEACE-PHS 2019 conference is February 15, 2019.
