ISA Professional Development - Pay It Forward: A Short Course of Women Helping Women

We're announcing a pre-convention professional development workshop designed to mentor female graduate students and junior faculty. This is a limited-attendance Special Event, by application only and will take place the day before ISA 2014 Toronto begins. ISA 2014 Annual Convention Hotel Update

We would like you to know that the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, the main ISA convention hotel for our 2014 Annual meeting is now nearly full. If you have not already made your hotel reservation and if you wish to book a room at the convention hotel, we recommend that you make your reservation as soon as possible while rooms there are still available.



ISA NE 2013: University of Michigan Press Special Conference Attendance

Melody Herr, Senior Acquisitions Editor, University of Michigan Press, will attend the ISA Northeast on 8 and 9 November. If you would like to make an appointment to discuss a potential book project, please contact Melody[] no later than 4 November. Also, on Saturday, 9 November, from 4:30 - 6:00 PM, Melody will hold a mini-seminar on publishing scholarly books in State Suite B.



Make Sure to Register by October 23rd

If you haven't already done so, be sure to register by the 23rd to secure your place on the program. We are looking forward to seeing you in Toronto!



Reflections on ISA's UN-NGO Status

A number of ISA members have taken advantage of ISA's consultative status with ECOSOC to attend UN meetings and/or conduct research at UN offices. The following is a personal reflection from ISA member Jennifer Sciubba about her experience attending a UN-sponsored working group.
