Call for Nominations - Robert H. Donaldson Award

ISA's Post-Communist Systems in International Relations Section (POSTCOMM) invites nominations for the Robert H. Donaldson Award. The award recognizes the  best paper written in the field of post-Communist studies. Winners receive a certificate and a $200.00 cash prize at the POSTCOMM business meeting at the ISA Annual Convention, as well as notice in the POSTCOMM newsletter and website. The submission deadline is 5 p.m. ET, September 1, 2014.



ILAW Best Graduate Paper Award Deadline Extended

The ILAW section solicits nominations for the Best Graduate Paper Award for 2015. Papers must be authored solely by graduate students and presented at ISA or another regional or national conference in the calendar year 2014. The submission deadline is extended to November 1st, 2014.



ISA Nominating Committee Report 2015

After careful deliberation, the ISA Nominating Committee unanimously agree on a single slate of candidates for ISA officers:  T.V. Paul for president; Kumiko Haba (Aoyama Gakuin University/Japan), Kelly Kadera, and Layna Mosley, for vice presidents.  We also solicited nominees for at-large representatives from outside the recognized ISA regions. We recommend the following five candidates to stand in the election for our three positions:  Mely Caballero-Anthony (Nanyang Technological University/Singapore), Han Dorussen (Essex, UK), Markus Kornprobst (Diplomatic Academy/Austria), Sergey Sevastianov (Far Eastern Federal University/Russia), and Ann Towns (Gothenburg/Sweden). 



Working Groups for the ISA 2015 Annual Convention in New Orleans

We are excited to announce that we are sponsoring two Working Groups at the upcoming ISA 2015 Annual Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana. Working Groups offer attendees a forum for dialogue and interaction around designated issue areas. Participation in ISA Working Groups is open and free to all ISA members. Applications for participation open September 22nd, 2014 and close October 3rd, 2014.



2nd Annual Pay it Forward: Women Helping Women

Do you want to learn more about how to finish your dissertation, how to put your job dossier together, be prepared for the job interview, avoid early career pitfalls, how to have better work/life balance and how to move ahead in the academic workplace? Then, this pre-conference program is for you! The program will take place at the Annual Convention in New Orleans on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, 9:00am-5:00pm and is sponsored by the ISA Committee on the Status of Women. WISC Call for Workshop Participants

The World International Studies Committee (WISC) invites applications for a one-day workshop on "The Future of Global IR: Enhancing Cooperation and Building New Networks" to be held at the GSCIS Singapore Conference in January 2015. Applications (CV and a brief letter of intent) should be addressed to by 30 September 2014.
