WCIS CALL FOR NOMINATIONS TO THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Come join the work of ISA’s Women’s Caucus!

The Women’s Caucus (WCIS) invites nominations (and self-nominations) for FOUR open
positions on the WCIS Executive Council. The deadline for receiving nominations is
February 1, 2022
. Serving on the executive committee is a wonderful opportunity to
become involved with the Women’s Caucus, as well as ISA more generally.

WCIS’ aim is to improve “the status of women in the profession of international studies.
WCIS seeks to promote equal opportunities for women in their professional lives, from
graduate school admissions through all stages of employment. WCIS also seeks to
promote women's professional development, both in academic and non-academic
professional careers in international studies.”

Open Positions

Vice-Chair/Chair (2022-2024): The elected member serves as Vice-Chair in the first
year, transitions automatically to become Chair in the second year, and then into the
Past Chair position. As Vice-Chair (2022-2023), duties would be focused on preparing
the program for the annual meeting, and assisting the Caucus Chair in their work. As
Chair (2023-2024), the main duties include presiding at the annual meeting, serving
as the liaison between WCIS and ISA, and coordinating Caucus activities. The Vice-
Chair/Chair also stays on in an advisory capacity for one year after serving as chair
(2023-2024).
ONE OPEN POSITION

Member-at-Large (2022-2024): Members-at-large generally contribute to WCIS
activities, including meetings, roundtables, and newsletters. In addition, Members-
at-large also participate in committee work, e.g. communications, awards, and
elections.
THREE OPEN POSITIONS

Nominations must include the following:

1. Name, institutional affiliation, and email address of the nominee.
2. 150-200 word statement on nominee’s interest in, and relevant prior experience for,
the position. This will be included on the ballot.
3. Name, institutional affiliation, and email of the two nominators (not required for self-
nominations).
