ISA-Midwest St. Louis 2020 Update

With much input from our members and colleagues, we have made the decision to host ISA Midwest online this year. We are still investigating online formats, and the conference plan is still taking shape. I will be in touch about programming information, including time slots and panels, once the submission window has closed. The conference will be held in US Central Time. We are currently accepting proposals for papers, panels, and now posters! The deadline for submissions remains July 24, 2020. Submit your work here: https://www.isanet.org/Conferences/Midwest-St-Louis-2020

Posters
In consultation with the ISA Midwest board, we decided to include a call for posters this year. We realize that many of us face significant interruptions in our research, and we hope that providing this option will allow for feedback on research in its early stages. Anyone may submit a poster! We have also decided to give an award for the best poster for graduate students and for faculty. This poster session and the associated awards are only for the 2020 ISA Midwest conference, and any continuation of this programmatic choice beyond this year will be discussed and decided at the next business meeting.

Pay It Forward
We plan to continue the very successful Pay It Forward workshop at ISA Midwest this year. Please contact Amy Below if you are interested in being a mentor!

  • WCIS will be coordinating mini-PIF workshops at the regional conferences again in 2020-2021.  We are currently seeking senior scholars who are interested in serving as mentors.  If you are interested, please email Amy Below (amy.below@csueastbay.edu) with your contact information, a CV, and the regional conference you plan to attend this year (we recognize that some conferences may be tentative at this point).

Emerging Scholars
If you would like your submission to be considered for the Emerging Scholars Forum, please indicate your choice during submission.

Awards
The ISA Midwest region recognizes the hard work of its members in many ways. View the list of awards here.

As this year's Program Chair, I want to thank you so much for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing you online in November!
