ISA Call for Officer Nominations - EXTENDED

The deadline for sending in nominations for the At-Large Representatives to the Governing Council has been extended through July 1st

We encourage members from outside ISA recognized regions (namely Europe, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East) to nominate colleagues or themselves. This two-year Governing Council membership is an opportunity to get acquainted with the workings of ISA and to participate in the annual meetings of the Governing Council. Details about the call can be found below.

At-Large Representatives to the Governing Council

The International Studies Association Nominating Committee invites members of the association to nominate candidates to be considered for the position of At-Large Representative on the ISA Governing Council.  At-Large Members do not represent any specific Section of ISA and are included in the Governing Council in order to ensure representation of membership from non-recognized ISA regions. One (or more) At-Large Members may be appointed to a role on the Executive Committee at the discretion of the President-Elect. Self-nominations are welcome. At-Large Representatives serve a two-year term and must be from outside the recognized regions of the Association (recognized regions include ISA-Asia-Pacific, ISA-Canada, ISA-Midwest, ISA-Northeast, ISA-South, and ISA-West). Thus, nominations from outside these recognized regions, including Africa, Europe, Middle East, and Latin America are encouraged. The Nominating Committee should put forth at least 5 nominees for the role of At-Large Member - the membership will elect three to the position. Criteria for council members include professional distinction and knowledge of the ISA. Nominations should contain: (1) a detailed letter that addresses the nominee's professional accomplishments and experience with the association; (2) a current vita for the candidate; and (3) a short statement by the nominee acknowledging the nomination. The ISA is strongly committed to diversity in its officers.

Application and Nomination Procedure:

The membership may nominate any candidate, including themselves, for the position of At-Large Representative of the International Studies Association Governing Council. Nominations must be received by July 1, 2018, and include a nomination letter, curriculum vitae, and statement by the nominee acknowledging the nomination.

Nominations should be sent directly to the Nominating Committee at this email: Nominations2019@isanet.org. Please put "ISA At-Large Representative Nomination" in the subject line. The Nominating Committee will review the candidates' qualifications with respect to the requirements of the position as stated in the call for nominations and nominate candidates for approval by the membership. The Nominating Committee will inform all candidates of their status in a timely way.

For more information on ISA Governance please see the Constitution (http://www.isanet.org/ISA/Governance/Constitution).
The deadline for nominations is July 1, 2018.
