International Conference at The University of Hong Kong

The recent Hong Kong conference was a great success, providing excellent forums for scholarly exchange, networking and cultural experiences.  From the Lion Dance and Eye Dotting Ceremony at the opening plenary to the panels and roundtables and much more, the nearly 1000 attendees made the most of their time at and around Hong Kong University.  We especially want to thank Marijke Bruening and John Ishiyama (University of North Texas) for their work as program co-chairs and Richard Hu (Hong Kong University) for his work as our host and on-site coordinator.  Without their efforts, those of the ISA staff and the faculty, staff, and administration of HKU, we would not have had nearly as worthwhile an experience.  We are also thrilled that we were able to help the HKU Faculty of Social Sciences celebrate its 50th anniversary.  All in all, this was a special experience for ISA members and we anticipate similar positive experiences at future international conferences, including at FLACSO-Quito in July 2018.

We look forward to seeing everyone in San Francisco in April 2018!
