In addition to its normal program activities, ISA has a number of special events on our program that add variety and new opportunities for our participants:
These give an opportunity to move beyond the structure of traditional panels. ISA only accepts eight innovative panels each year. Past innovative panels have been mock trials, video panels, and other unique sessions that bring something new to the convention.

The deadline for Career Courses for ISA's annual conference is June 1st, 2015! ISA Career Courses will be half-day courses held during the ISA Annual Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, that offer participants an in-depth instruction on advanced topics such as methodology, teaching strategies, software, and more. Research Workshop Grants
The International Studies Association is pleased to announce our Research Workshop Grant Program for 2015-2016. These grants are designed to support workshops for collaborative research that is new and innovative and involves scholars who are drawn from the global international studies community. Are you in coordinating a Working Group at the ISA 2016 Annual Convention in Atlanta, Georgia? Then make sure to submit your proposal before the June 15, 2015! Working groups offer attendees a forum for dialogue and interaction around designated issue areas. By participating in a working group, conference attendees discuss the most thought-provoking issues in their section as well as their own research through an extended and focused discussion. Pay it Forward
Applications are open for the 2016 ISA Pay it Forward program! This is designed to mentor female graduate students and junior faculty to successfully maneuver within the discipline and will take place at ISA Atlanta 2016. Event activities will target processes of getting a job, publication, tenure, promotion, work-life balance, and navigating a gendered field. The deadline to apply is June 5th, 2015, and space is limited, so make sure to complete your application soon!
