On Saturday, 9 November, from 4:30 - 6:00 PM, Melody will hold a mini-seminar on publishing scholarly books in State Suite B. Topics include:

• deciding whether or not a project is suitable for publication as a book
• identifying potential publishers
• approaching press editors
• preparing a book proposal
• knowing what to expect during peer review at a university press
• negotiating a publishing contract
• preparing the final manuscript for publication
• knowing what to expect during the publication and initial marketing processes
