The World International Studies Committee (WISC) invites applications for a one-day workshop on "The Future of Global IR: Enhancing Cooperation and Building New Networks" to be held at the GSCIS Singapore Conference in January 2015. Approximately 15-20 scholars will be invited to attend the workshop on 9 January 2015, 8:30am – 3pm. The workshop will focus in a freewheeling and broad-ranging exchange of ideas on the future of International Relations scholarship both as far as substantive research issues as well as organizational aspects are concerned. Ideally participants will have diverse backgrounds and come from different scholarly communities from around the world. Participants are expected to submit short memos (approx. 3-5 pages) ahead of the conference which should focus on how they assess the current state and future perspectives of global IR scholarship both substantively and organizationally. IR scholars participating in the Singapore Conference anyhow are invited to apply. Other IR scholars who are willing to travel to Singapore at their own cost specifically for attending this workshop would be welcome to apply as well. WISC will cover costs for one additional night in the conference hotel and provide a small per diem to cover food. Applications (CV and a brief letter of intent) should be addressed to wisc2014@soz.uni-frankfurt.de by 30 September 2014.
