Call for Papers: ASMEA Sixth Annual Conference

The Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA) is currently accepting registrations to attend the Sixth Annual Conference titled, "Tides of Change: Looking Back and Forging Ahead in the Middle East and Africa."  The conference will be held November 21 - 23, 2013 in Washington, D.C.

This year's conference will feature:

  •  Keynote address by Michael Young, opinion editor of the Daily Star newspaper in Beirut, Lebanon.
  • Roundtable discussions on: "Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Region, and Beyond," "The Retreat of the Great Powers in the Middle East," and "Revolution, Revolt, and Reform in North Africa."
  • Banquet luncheon and professional networking reception.
  • Film Screenings.
  • Displays by publishers of the latest academic titles.
