The Social Science Research Council announces the application process for the Drugs, Security and Democracy Fellowship. The program provides support for research across a variety of disciplines—anthropology, sociology, criminology, history, political science, international relations, economics, journalism, public policy, legal studies, public health, and other related fields—to create a network of scholars interested in developing alternative approaches to drug policy. The competition is open to PhD candidates and recent PhD recipients worldwide. Applications are due by January 20, 2014.

The American Graduate School in Paris invites submissions for its 9th annual AGS Graduate Student Conference from April 17-18, 2014. Abstracts on the conference theme  “Cyber Developments in International Relations: Impacts on an Evolving World” should be received by 15 January 2014.
The program chairs invite proposals for the upcoming 4th Global International Studies Conference of the World International Studies Committee (WISC) in Frankfurt, Germany from 6-9 August 2014. The conference theme is Justice, Peace and Stability: Risks and Opportunities for Governance and Development. Proposals for papers, panels and roundtables can be submitted online until 30 November 2013.

The Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA) is currently accepting registrations to attend the Sixth Annual Conference titled, "Tides of Change: Looking Back and Forging Ahead in the Middle East and Africa."  The conference will be held November 21 - 23, 2013 in Washington, D.C.

The Brazilian Journal of International Politics invites paper submissions for a special issue on the theme China Rising: Strategies and Tactics of China's growing presence in the world. This special issue aims to evaluate the state of the Chinese presence in the international system and its relationships with major powers, with regions and with regional powers. Submissions are due by November 20, 2013.
