The Deborah Gerner Innovative Teaching in International Studies Award honors the legacy of Misty Gerner as not only a fine scholar, but also as a passionate and dedicated teacher and mentor. Sponsored to carry her memory and mission forward by Rowman & Littlefield Publishers and the editorial board of the New Millennium Books in International Studies, the award is granted annually to an instructor who has developed effective new approaches to teaching in the discipline. The deadline for nominations is October 10, 2016.

The J. Ann Tickner Award Committee welcomes nominations for the 2017 J. Ann Tickner Award. The award honors a member of ISA who, like Professor Tickner, has consistently combined bravery with pursuit of high-quality and pioneering scholarship pushing the boundaries of the discipline while also showing a deep commitment to service, particularly teaching and mentoring of students and younger scholars in the field. Nominations or requests for renewal should be sent to the Award Committee at no later than September 30th.

The Women’s Caucus of the International Studies Association (WCIS) is pleased to announce the call for applications/nominations for our two annual awards, the Deborah “Misty” Gerner Grant for Professional Development and the Susan S. Northcutt Award.
The International Ethics section of the International Studies Association announces its annual book award competition for 2017. The award is given every year at the International Ethics section business meeting at the ISA Convention. Next year, the convention is in Baltimore, February 22-25, 2017.
The International Studies Association is proud to announce that Barry R. Posen, Ford International Professor of Political Science and Director of the Security Studies Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has been named the 2017 recipient of the International Security Studies Section (ISSS) Distinguished Scholar Award.
Religion and International Studies (REL) invites nominations for the section's annual Distinguished Book Award.
