Following years of activism around issues of discrimination, harassment, and assault within the academy at large, and within the ISA as a leading professional organization, a series of ten panels at the 2017 ISA Annual Convention in Baltimore aims to confront systemic discrimination, violent practices, and a culture of indifference and complicity that has allowed these problems to persist.

As some of our members have noticed, because of the overwhelming response to this year's Call for Papers, the system became overloaded and experienced some volume errors. We have rectified the situation and, as a result, have decided to extend the deadline for submissions through Thursday, June 2nd, 2016 at 6pm (EDT). We look forward to seeing you in Baltimore.

ISA Baltimore 2017 seeks paper, panel and round table submissions related to all areas of international studies and world politics. Particularly welcome are submissions related to our 2017 convention theme, Understanding Change in World Politics.

Applications are open for the 2017 ISA Pay it Forward program! This short course is designed to mentor female graduate students and junior faculty to successfully maneuver within the discipline and will take place at ISA Baltimore 2017. Event activities will target processes of getting a job, publication, tenure, promotion, work-life balance, and navigating a gendered field. The deadline to apply is June 5th, 2016, and space is limited, so make sure to complete your application soon!

Our theme this year is Understanding Change in World Politics. ISA President, T.V. Paul, took some time in Atlanta to share some insight into the theme and his hopes for ISA's next Annual Convention.

Proposal submissions are now open and the proposal submission deadline is June 2nd, 2016 [6PM EST - updated].
