The Women’s Caucus (WCIS) invites nominations for THREE open positions on the WCIS Board. The deadline for receiving nominations is Friday, January 30, 2016. We encourage self-nominations too! 

Serving on the board is a wonderful opportunity to become involved with the Caucus, as well as ISA as a whole. As you know, WCIS “is devoted to upgrading the status of women in the profession of international studies. WCIS seeks to promote equal opportunities for women in their professional lives, from graduate school admissions through all stages of employment. WCIS also seeks to promote women's professional development, both in academic and non-academic professional careers in international studies.” Thus, WE NEED YOU!

Open Positions

1. Vice-Chair/Chair (2016-2018): The elected member serves as Vice-Chair in the first year, transitions automatically to become Chair in the second year, and then into the Past Chair position. As Vice-Chair (2016-2017), duties would be focused on preparing the program for the annual meeting, and assisting the Caucus Chair in their work. As Chair (2017-2018), the main duties include presiding at the annual meeting, serving as the liaison between WCIS and ISA, and coordinating Caucus activities. 

2. Secretary/Treasurer (2016-2018): The incumbent maintains accurate records of all meetings and correspondence of the organization; compiles and revises as necessary a membership list; keeps a permanent file of the records and publications of the WCIS; and handles the financial affairs of the organization under the direction of the Chair. Additional duties include membership outreach and diversification, along with working closely with the Communications Coordinator on some of these issues. 

3. Member-at-Large (2016-2018): Members-at-large generally contribute to WCIS activities, including Board meetings, committee work, and deliberations on awards.

Letters of nominations must include the following:
1. Name, institutional affiliation, and email address of the nominee.
2. 150-200 word statement on nominee’s interest in, and relevant prior experience for, the post.    
3. Name, institutional affiliation and email of the nominator (not required for self-nominations).
