Here are the most important things to make sure you have done:
Browse the Program
ISA has an online program (requires login) that lets you search by person, title, sponsor, and even keywords! You can use this to build a personalized schedule that you can download as a PDF to have handy when you're at the convention
The ISA Annual Convention offers participants the opportunity to take part in skills-building, networking and collaborative programs. Consider registering for a Career Course to make the most out of your Annual Convention experience!
If you have special requirements under the ADA, please contact us ADAneeds@isanet.org at least 60 days prior to the start of the convention.
Book Your Hotel
Our hotels fill up quickly. As soon as you register, you can check your schedule and see what rooms/hotels your panels are in, and use that information to reserve a room close to your sessions. You can see the latest updates on our travel page.
Finalize Your Paper(s)
Regarding your paper layout, we don't have any specific requirements regarding conference papers beyond the suggestion that you take as much space as needed to address the question you pose/investigate and cite as appropriate (using whichever format is your preference).
We recommend however, that you keep in mind that your chair, discussant and fellow panelists all have 4-5 more papers on the same panel to read (in addition to any other placements on the program), so an eye toward moderation in length is unlikely to go amiss. (Most common is about the length of a 8-10 page paper.) Also, all papers must be uploaded in PDF format to the paper archive and be less than 10mb in size.
Upload Your Paper(s)
ISA policy requires a digital version of presented papers to be uploaded no later than five business days before the conference, but, we ask that you try to have a PDF uploaded no later March 20th (February 27th for JSS papers) to give your discussant time to read your work. You'll find the upload form on your schedule page.
Touch Base with Your Panel
You can look up the email address of participants on your panels when viewing a panel's details in our online program (show me how!). If you will be helping run a panel, you can learn about being a chair or discussant at ISA.
Prepare for Your Presentation
Presentations typically span between 8-12 minutes but that depends largely on the size of your panel and decisions by your chair. Reach out to your chair for specific details. All rooms are equipped with a Windows-based computer and projector.
