ISA 2023 - Leadership Submissions

This is a special area for members of ISA's leadership to submit Distinguished Scholar and Committee panels. Please do not use this for normal panel submissions as unapproved submissions will not be considered or accepted to the program. This is only suitable for these types of proposals:

Distinguished Scholar Panels: These panels should be submitted by a Section/Caucus chair (or other leadership). ISA HQ will specially handle DS panels and help facilitate ONE special scheduling request per group. (All DS panels are drawn from section/caucus's panel allocation.) Please note: We are unable to accept placeholder panels - panels must be complete when they are submitted

Committee Panels: These panels should be submitted by a committee chair. These are only available for the Academic Freedom Committee, the Committee on the Status of Women, the Committee on the Status of Representation and Diversity, Committee on the Status of Engagement with the Global South, the Professional Development Committee, and the Pedagogy Conference Planning Committee.

Committee and Structuring Inclusion Breakout Sessions [previously known as Cafés]: ISA Standing Committees and the Structuring Inclusion program may choose to use up to one of their allocated sessions in a special breakout room format. Previously styled as Café setups, these rooms allow for both large group gatherings with a head table and audience seating and another space for individual round tables where the group can separate out into smaller breakout groups.

Distinguished Scholar panels, Committee Panels, and Breakout Sessions (Cafés) are exempt from our normal participation limits. If you believe you are inappropriately hitting a limit, please contact headquarters.

Committee  and Structuring Inclusion Panel/Café submissions deadline: Wednesday, June 1, 2022
Distinguished Scholar Panel submissions deadline: Friday, July 1, 2022

Please note: The deadline for submitting Committee and Structuring Inclusion panels for ISA 2023 has passed.

Distinguished Scholar Panels

ISA-HQ is happy to help facilitate your Distinguished Scholar Panels. But, to do that, we need to remove time slots from the pool for the program chairs before the program chairs get access to their program management tools. After that, HQ is no longer able to help facilitate Distinguished Scholar Panel placements. If this deadline is missed, ISA-HQ will independently schedule your reception and you will have to work directly with the program chairs on scheduling your panel. Please note, we are only able to facilitate ONE special scheduling request per section/caucus. DS panels will be considered part of a section's/caucus's allocation.
