Discussion board | Editorial Advisory Board
The International Studies Association approved the undertaking of a major Compendium Project at the 2006 Annual Meeting in San Diego. The Compendium is designed to serve as the fundamental resource for information on international studies. (For additional background see Compendium History.)
Editorial Policies and Guidelines
The Compendium Project is composed of three components:
- ISO- International Studies On-Line
- ISE- The International Studies Encyclopedia
- ISC- International Studies Compendia: Section Volume Series
Entries are review essays of approximately ten thousand words that trace the development, current status and future prospects of the literature in a particular issue area and are peer reviewed.
In the electronic version, (the International Studies On-Line), the essays are enhanced with live links to archives, datasets, cases, pedagogical aids, discussion board and other relevant materials. Wiley-Blackwell also publishes a hardback version of the materials in A-to-Z format to be titled the International Studies Encyclopedia (ISE).
ISA sections also have the option of adding content to the essays they generate and publishing a separate volume suitable for students or personal libraries. These will be marketed well after the overall project becomes available, and section co-editors (or the sections themselves) might share the revenues from such volumes.
Compendium Access
Please note, ISA members received special access to the Compendium for its first year; this promotional period has now expired. To access the Compendium today, you will need either an institutional or individual subscription - both are available through Wiley. Please download this flyer (PDF) for more information.>
