INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS
International Interactions is interested in publishing articles that make theoretical and empirical advances in the scientific study of conflict and political economy. Articles concerned primarily with reviewing literature or making normative policy prescriptions will not be considered.
Manuscripts should be no more than 40 pages for full-length articles and no more than 17 pages for research notes and commentaries. Manuscripts should be double-spaced and written in 12 point font. They should also be in either Microsoft Word format or submitted as a pdf file. Please send us one identifiable and one anonymous manuscript. We assume that the submission has not been published elsewhere and is not being simultaneously reviewed by any other journal. Discovery of the contrary will lead to a halt of the review process.
All manuscripts accepted for publication will be restricted in length. As a guideline, authors should plan for full manuscripts to be approximately 10,000-11,000 words in length (inclusive). Research notes will be approximately 5,000-6,000 words in length.
International Interactions is now edited using the online management system, ScholarOne. To submit a manuscript, please visit our ScholarOne page at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/gini . Once at this page, new users should click on "Register here" or "Click here to create an account." You will then be asked to complete general profile questions, after which you may click on "Submit a New Manuscript." Returning users may simply log-in, at which point you will have the option to click on "Submit a Manuscript." If you forget your password, please use the "Password Help" field of the log-in page. Finally, please note that ScholarOne sites are not linked across journals. You will need to create an account to submit to International Interactions even if you have an existing ScholarOne account with another journal.
Once you submit a manuscript, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from our staff that your manuscript is out for review within days of submission. The editors strive to make a decision on your manuscript within roughly 90 days of submission. Please do not hesitate to contact the editorial team if you have not received a confirmation email within a week of submitting your manuscript or have not received a decision within 90 days of submission. Our email address is:
