Mark B. Salter Quinn

Mark B. Salter is an associate professor at the School of Political Studies, University of Ottawa. He presently teaches in areas of globalization, research methodology, international relations theory, and security. He was awarded a National Capital Educator’s Award and an Excellence in Education Prize in 2007. In 2008, he was a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities and a Visiting Scholar at the Centre of International Studies, University of Cambridge. He is Associate Editor of Security Dialogue and International Political Sociology. Salter is a former Chair of the International Political Sociology Section of ISA and a founding member of the Canadian Critical Security Studies network.

Mark B. Salter est professeur agrégé dans l’école d’études politiques a l’université d’Ottawa. Il enseignes dans les champs de mondialisation, des méthodologies critiques, théories de rélations internationales, et aussi de sécurité. L’Université d’Ottawa a reconnait Salter avec un prix d’excellence en éducation et un prix d’excellence en enseignement de la capital en 2007. En 2008, Salter était un membre du Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities et un chercheur invité du Centre of International Studies, Université de Cambridge. Il est éditeur-associe des revues Security Dialogue et International Political Sociology. Salter a déjà élu a la presidence de la section de International Political Sociology, et est un des fondateurs de la réseaux pour l’études critiques de la sécurité en Canada.

J. Andrew Grant, Queen's University

Dr. J. Andrew Grant is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Studies at Queen’s University. In 2009, Dr. Grant received an Early Researcher Award from the Government of Ontario. The award enables Dr. Grant to serve as the Principal Investigator of a research project that examines governance and competitiveness in mining. During the 2005-2006 academic year, he was a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada Postdoctoral Fellow with the Center for International and Comparative Studies at Northwestern University. From April to June 2003, he was an intern at the Campaign for Good Governance in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Dr. Grant is co-editor of The New Regionalism in Africa  (with Fredrik Söderbaum, Ashgate 2003), editor of Darfur: Reflections on the Crisis and the Responses (QCIR, 2009), and co-editor of The Research Companion to Regionalisms (with Timothy M. Shaw and Scarlett Cornelissen, Ashgate forthcoming). His recent publications focus on conflict diamonds and the Kimberley Process, regional security, transitional justice, post-conflict reconstruction, and governance issues relating to natural resource extraction. He has conducted field research in Sierra Leone, Ghana, Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa. Dr. Grant is also a Senior Fellow with the Queen’s Centre for International Relations, a Faculty Associate with the Queen’s Southern African Research Centre, a Research Fellow with the Centre for Foreign Policy Studies at Dalhousie University, and the Chair of the International Political Science Association Research Committee #40 (New World Orders).

Marc G. Doucet

Marc G. Doucet is associate professor at Saint Mary’s University where he teaches in the department of political science. He earned his PhD from the University of Ottawa in 2000. His areas of research have included international relations theory, radical democracy, and the alter-globalization movement. His current research draws from recent literature on biopower and sovereign power in order to examine contemporary forms of international intervention. He is the co-editor of Security and Global Governmentality: Globalization, Governance and the State and has published articles in Security Dialogue; Theory & Event: Contemporary Political Theory; Millennium: Journal of International Studies, Alternatives: Global, Local, Political, and Global Society: Journal of Interdisciplinary International Relations.
