ISA Workshop Grants - Deadline Extended

The International Studies Association wishes to announce that the deadline for the receipt of completed Workshop Grant applications has been extended until July 31st, 2008.

ISA Workshop Grants support workshops for collaborative research that is new and innovative and involves scholars who are drawn from the global international studies community. Workshops will be held in conjunction with the 2009 ISA Annual Convention in New York City, NY, February 15-18. As a reminder, full information on the goals of the program and application guidelines are available on the workshop website.

Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals electronically to ISA via e-mail to: International Studies Association / isa@u.arizona.edu, using a PDF document format. The entire proposal must be contained in a single document file; please do not send multiple files containing various components of the proposal since these are difficult to manage. Proposals on paper are also accepted; please provide six (6) copies of all materials. The proposal, with all required accompanying materials, must be received by July 31, 2008. 

When you send the proposal to ISA, also send a complete copy to the committee chair (e-mail preferred):

If you do not receive a confirmation within ten days (email) that your proposal was received, please contact the committee chair since there may have been problems transmitting the proposals. E-mail queries may also be sent to the Chair. Please use “ISA Workshop Grants” in the subject line. All applicants should expect to receive notification as to whether the proposal will be funded on or soon after September 2, 2008.

Child Care Services

ISA is pleased to offer child care at the 2009 Annual Convention. Kiddie Corp, a nationally recognized provider of onsite child care programs, is our official contractor.  Program services are available only to ISA members, on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-members who wish to participate in the child care program must first join ISA before submitting a registration request to Kiddie Corp.

Cost: Faculty ISA members will pay $50 per child/per day; student ISA members will pay $25 per child/per day.

Hours and Location: Child care will be offered Sunday, February 15 through Wednesday, February 18, from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM daily. Kiddie Corp Registration will be located at the entrance to the 16th Floor Skylobby, NY Marriott Marquis Hotel.

Eligibility: Child care services are offered to ISA members with pre-registered children.  Children from 6 months to 12 years of age can participate in the program.  Walk-ins are accepted on a space-available basis. Please check availability at the Kiddie Corp Registration Desk, during regular program hours. Entire program fee applies - no discounts for partial or single-day enrollment.
