GSCIS Blog Update
The GSCIS blog has been updated recently with some very important messages that need your response. In particular see messages regarding the Distinguished Scholar Luncheon to be held in San Francisco on Friday April 5, and bids for a Second Global South International Studies Conference. Notification regarding elections for the Executive Committee will also be posted as soon as the Nominations Committee completes its deliberations. Please also review our Charter (posted last year on the site for comment throughout the past year) as it will be ratified at the Business Meeting in San Francisco. The blog can be accessed from the isanet.org site or directly here. From the “happy-2013” post, please click “newer posts” at the bottom for the other recent messages (and “older posts” for the Charter). Thanks to all who have made the past year a success and we look forward to seeing you, and attending your panel presentations, in San Francisco.
Call for Nominations: Distinguished Scholar Honoree, 2013
The Global South Caucus’ Distinguished Scholar Award is given annually in recognition of the recipient’s exceptional and sustained contribution to research on global south international studies (defined within the context of the ISA), as reflected in published works as well as contributions to the policy community. If the recipient is able to attend the ISA convention at which the award is given, s/he will be expected to give a brief address to members.
Members and friends of the caucus are asked to submit nominations by email to the Caucus’ Chair; a note outlining the basis for considering the nominee, as well as a bio/CV (or web link to one) should accompany the nomination. Final decisions are made by the Nomination Committee.**
The deadline for nominations is June 1st.
The recipient receives a plaque, which is presented at the ISA Annual Convention.
**The Executive Committee serves as Nominating Committee for all committees other than itself.
Please send nominations to jbraveboy-wagner@gc.cuny.edu.
