The Austrian Institute for International Affairs (OIIP) is an independent, non-university scientific research institute located in Vienna. OIIP initiates communication processes that enhance awareness of international political systems and promotes the identity of Austria. It helps to define the position of Austria in the international community. In view of its ambivalent history and tradition, Austria is called upon to play an active role in developing European culture that affirms the existing variety and sustains common European values. OIIP develops realistic approaches to international problems and conflicts.
