Conventions & Conferences

The Association's annual convention is a major international scholarly event, including over 800 panel sessions and involving participants from more than fifty countries. Our international conventions and conferences are held at alternative sites in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and overseas. The next annual convention will be held in New York in February of 2009. ISA also cosponsors international conferences with our cooperating organizations around the world. Recent examples of such conferences include the joint convention in Hong Kong between Hong Kong University and ISA in July of 2001, the joint conference in Budapest between Central European University and ISA in June of 2003, and the joint conference in Istanbul between the World International Studies Committee and ISA in August of 2005. The next international conference will be hosted with the World International Studies Committee in Slovenia in July of 2008.
