Call for Editors: Cooperation and Conflict

The Nordic International Studies Association (NISA) announces a search for a new editorial team to take over the running of Cooperation and Conflict (CoCo) during mid-2013 and for a four-year period. CoCo, published by SAGE Publications, was launched more than forty years ago and is one of the prominent international journals in the field. It ranks in the top third of journals in both International Relations and Political Science, and it has been growing in terms of submissions and impact factor (currently 0.902) in recent years. The present editorial team consists of Lee Miles and Jan Angstrom. NISA is looking for an editorial team with the academic strength and institutional support to continue the growth of the journal established by the previous editors. Applicants should email an application including a cover letter with a statement describing the editors’ goals for taking CoCo forward, CVs, and a confirmation of institutional support from the appropriate authority. The closing date for applications is March 15, 2013. NISA is an ISA Cooperating Organization.

CFP: Global Conversations Journal

Global Conversations Journal, a new International Relations Journal founded by students at the London School of Economics, is seeking to publish the outstanding work of young scholars in IR. This includes the work of both undergraduate and graduate students. Both broad theoretical papers (in the style of Foreign Affairs) and specific research papers will be welcomed. The journal will not adopt a predetermined theoretical stance ( be it neorealist, post structuralist etc. ) but will rather seek to promote a global inter-paradigm debate. Virtual Issue: Foreign Policy in the U.S. Presidential Election

Our journal publisher, Wiley-Blackwell, is offering a free virtual issue with articles from five of our journals addressing the topic "Foreign Policy in the U.S. Presidential Election," available online here.  This special issue was compiled by the editor of Foreign Policy Analysis to provide the public greater access to scholarly thought on this important topic. Call for Editors: International Interactions

The journal International Interactions announces a call for editors. The term of the editorial team based at the University of Illinois, led by Professor Paul Diehl, will be coming to an end in 2014. The ISA Publications Committee is therefore calling for proposals from individuals or teams to succeed Prof. Diehl and his Illinois colleagues as editor(s). Only those with university positions and access to university resources should apply. The ISA Publications Committee will evaluate all applications, and make its recommendation regarding a new editor (or editorial team) to the Executive Committee in late January 2013. The International Studies Association will provide a subvention to the Editor(s) of approximately $30,000 annually to support the editorial project. Applications should be submitted to Brian M. Taylor & Francis Online is offering a free online preview of the latest issue of International Interactions. The preview is available here for a limited time. International Interactions is a leading interdisciplinary journal that publishes original empirical, analytic, and theoretical studies of conflict and political economy. The journal has a particular interest in research that focuses upon the broad range of relations and interactions among the actors in the global system. CfP: Journal of Global Analysis

The Journal of Global Analysis invites submissions for upcoming editions. Journal of Global Analysis endeavors to become the foremost international forum for academics, researchers and policy makers to share their knowledge and experience in the disciplines of political science, international relations, economics, sociology, international law, political history, and human geography. The journal is an interdisciplinary refereed e-journal, edited by a group of international scholars indicated in the Editorial Board and International Advisory Board. The editors welcomes submissions of articles from related persons involved in the scope of the journal as well as summary reports of conferences and lecture series held in social sciences. CFP: The Journal of Regional Security

The Journal of Regional Security announces a call for papers for a special issue on "Security Community Building: Bridging the Theory/Policy Divide." During the past decades academic and policy communities, dealing with international politics and security, have significantly parted ways. The goal of the special issue is to help bring the two worlds together in order to widen and deepen the knowledge and practice of security community building. The editors are welcoming papers that offer novel and theoretically sound understanding of security community building practices. We are specifically interested in papers drawing on the recent "practice turn" in International Relations and Security Studies. The Journal of Regional Security (former Western Balkans Security Observer) is the first peer-reviewed journal specializing in the field of regional security studies. Global Constitutionalism Announces New Issue

ISA members may be interested in the latest issue of the journal Global Constitutionalism - Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law (Glob-Con), now available online. The journal seeks to promote a deeper understanding on the foundations, limitations and principles of political order and their dynamics over time on a global scale. Glob-Con is interested in work that refers to constitutionalism as a template for empirical, conceptual or normative research on past, present and future political and legal practices, within and beyond the state. The international peer-reviewed journal is published by Cambridge University Press and is edited by Mattias Kumm, Anthony F. Lang Jr., Miguel Poiares Maduro, Antje Wiener, with James Tully, serving as a consulting editor.

Call for Editors: European Journal of International Relations

The Standing Group on International Relations (SGIR) is looking for a new editorial team to take over the running of EJIR during early 2013. EJIR was launched in 1995, and is one of the leading international journals in the field. Its previous editors included Walter Carlsnaes, Friedrich Kratochwil and Barry Buzan. The present editorial team consists of Tim Dunne, Lene Hansen and Colin Wight.
