The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation annually awards ten German Chancellor Fellowships to young professionals in the private, public, not-for-profit, cultural and academic sectors who are citizens of the United States. The program, which also includes fellowships for citizens of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China, sponsors individuals who demonstrate the potential to strengthen ties between Germany and their own country through their profession or studies. Candidates from all professions and disciplines, but especially individuals in the humanities, law, social sciences and economics, are eligible to apply. Prior knowledge of German is not a prerequisite. The October 31 application deadline for 2010-2011 fellowships is approaching. Applications are invited for Visiting Fellowships in Human Rights, hosted by the Human Rights Consortium at the School of Advanced Study, University of London. Visiting Fellowships in Human Rights are granted for a period ranging from one to six months. Fellows are expected to help develop the activities of the Human Rights Consortium at the School by presenting at a conference or seminar or contributing to a publication, and to pursue their own research. Office space, access to computing and printing facilities and a library card are provided. An honorarium of up to £2,000 is offered to one Visiting Fellow in Human Rights each year. Non-stipendiary fellowships may also be offered, subject to space availability. The application deadline is 30 September 2009 for a visit in 2010. Prospective applicants are encouraged to apply at least six months before their proposed visit. The U.S. Institute of Peace Jennings Randolph program calls for applicants for the 2010-2011 Senior Fellowship Program. The Jennings Randolph (JR) Program for International Peace awards approximately 12 residential Senior Fellowships each year to allow outstanding scholars, practitioners, policymakers, journalists, and other professionals the opportunity to conduct research on peace, conflict, and international security while taking advantage of their time in Washington D.C. to make connections with other scholars and practitioners both inside and outside USIP. These in-house fellowships normally last for ten months starting in October 2010. Fellowships are open to citizens of any country and include a stipend of up to $100,000. The application deadline is September 8th, 2009.

The University of Queensland invites applications for a limited number of Postdoctoral Research Fellowships commencing in 2010, to be awarded to persons wishing to conduct full-time research at the University in any of its disciplines. The School of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Queensland, the largest of its kind in Australia, is at the forefront of teaching and research in international relations, peace and conflict studies, governance and public policy, political science and development practice. The School offers courses across five specialist areas of study: International Relations, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Development Practice, Political Science and Governance and Public Policy. IREX is pleased to announce 2009-2010 competition for the US Embassy Policy Specialist (EPS) Program. The EPS Program provides fellowships of up to eight weeks to U.S. scholars and professionals to serve U.S. embassies as policy specialists on a chosen topic and pursue their own research project independently. EPS Grant covers the cost of travel and housing and provides a living stipend. The EPS application and supporting materials are available on the IREX website. The application deadline is April 6, 2009.

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) are pleased to announce fellowships for scholars from the Americas (North, Central, South and the Caribbean) to visit and engage in collaborative activities with members of ESRC-supported projects in Britain, or for British scholars at ESRC-supported projects to visit collaborators in the Americas, between 1 June 2009 and 31 August 2010.
