MPSA Editorial Search

The Midwest Political Science Association invites applications from individuals, pairs, or teams for the Editorship of the American Journal of Political Science (AJPS) for the years 2010 through 2013. Nominations and self-nominations are encouraged. Interested applicants for Editor should be full professors in Political Science doctoral degree-granting programs.  Applicants are expected to have records of significant research accomplishment, intellectual breadth and depth, and administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills. York University's Glendon College is seeking to fill the position of Assistant Professor. Duties will include administrative responsibilities namely chairing the Department of International Studies (DIS) as well as teaching at the undergraduate level for an interim period of 11 months. The successful candidate must be able to teach and work in English and French. Knowledge of Spanish would be an asset. The successful candidate must demonstrate commitment to teaching and research in International Studies in a bilingual, interdisciplinary and multicultural context, hold a PhD in International Studies and have publications and research projects in the field. Webster University-Thailand is seeking a Director of the Master’s of Arts Degree in International Relations at our Center in Bangkok. This full time, 12-month position includes administrative, teaching, and advising responsibilities. Administratively, the successful candidate is expected to plan the curriculum, recruit qualified faculty, orient and mentor new faculty, and assist with student recruiting.  Teaching responsibilities include teaching four courses a year including one within our innovative Global MA in International Relations.  The director also serves as the graduate student advisor. The U.S. Institute of Peace seeks a person to serve as a Program Officer in the Institute’s Grant Program. Duties include: 1) Participating in program planning for the effective expenditure of grant funds; 2) implementing program policies and plans; 3) managing a portfolio of existing grants to civil society organizations and assisting new applicants with the preparation of grant applications; 4) reviewing and evaluating proposals; 5) managing an internal staff and external peer review process of proposal evaluation; and 6) monitoring the implementation and evaluation of grant projects and contracts. INSS is a policy research and strategic gaming organization within the National Defense University (NDU) serving the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and its interagency partners. The Director establishes priorities for and oversees the work of the Institute’s research, strategic gaming, conferences, and publications organizations. The ideal candidate will have most or all of these qualifications and experience: significant experience in national security affairs at senior levels, preferably in the U.S. government; demonstrated ability to communicate with senior U.S. and foreign officials and public audiences; experience in a leadership position in a major research or academic organization; and preferably a PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
