The Journal of Strategic Security (JSS), a publication of Henley-Putnam University, seeks manuscripts for an upcoming issue focusing on targeted violence. In the early 1990s Robert Fein and Bryan Vossekuil coined the term "targeted violence" to refer to "situations in which an identifiable (or potentially identifiable) perpetrator poses (or may pose) a threat of violence to a particular individual or group" (Fein, Vossekuil, & Holden, 1995, p. 2). Contributions might address issues such as interviewing strategies, innovative protective intelligence systems or analytic methods, detailed and systematic case studies, recent trends, public perceptions, and international comparisons, or they might focus on a particular form of targeted violence or characteristics of the perpetrators and their pre-attack behaviors. The Journal welcomes creative approaches to addressing the strategic impact of targeted violence, and looks forward to receiving submissions by the November 1, 2012 deadline.
