The Orfalea Center for Global & International Studies and faculty of the G&IS program at UC Santa Barbara announce a call for papers and panels for an academic conference to be held at UCSB on February 24-25, 2012, on the general theme of 'Crisis.' Established scholars and graduate students are invited to submit a paper abstract or panel proposal on the theme of crisis as a salient feature of current global conditions. The conference invites papers and panels that engage with crisis from diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives from across the humanities and social sciences. Proposals should include a 200-300 word abstract for a 15-20 minute presentation, along with a completed registration form to sbgsc@orfaleacenter.ucsb.edu.
