A fully funded three-year PhD scholarship is available to work under the supervision of Australian Professorial Fellow Garry Rodan who is undertaking a 5-year project entitled ‘Representation and Political Regimes in Southeast Asia,’ funded by the Australian Research Council. The successful candidate will be based at Murdoch University’s Asia Research Centre in Perth, Australia, which has a strong concentration of scholars with specialist research expertise on Southeast Asian politics and societies. Applications are invited for candidates with similar or complementary research interests. The three-year scholarship carries a stipend of $27,222 per annum plus fieldwork and conference attendance support. These can be submitted at any time before and up to 15 October 2011. The successful candidate can take up the scholarship from as early as late 2011 and would be expected to start no later than May 2012.
