The Middle-Atlantic Council of Latin American Studies (MACLAS) invites faculty, students, and practitioners to submit individual paper and panel proposals concerned with the problem of globalization and well-being in Latin America for our 2011 Annual Conference to be held March 17-19, 2011 at the University of Pittsburgh. At the same time, papers dealing with other aspects of Latin American Studies are very welcome. Additionally, organizers will consider a limited number of workshop proposals on such questions as study abroad, academic publishing, and teaching methods, among others. Please submit a 250-word abstract for individual papers or complete panel proposals (250-word abstracts for each of four papers) in English, Spanish, or Portuguese to maclas2011.proposals@gmail.com by January 10, 2011. Please include a title, your name (all names of panel/workshop participants if relevant), your institution, and your role (faculty, student, other). Presentations should be 15-20 minutes in length.
