Queen's University invites papers for a workshop on Understanding Order, Cooperation, and Variance among Non-State Armed Groups, September 19, 2009, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The workshop is interested in original papers that probe empirical and theoretical questions relating to why armed groups cooperate and what conditions account for variance in cooperation across and within regions. Papers that focus on one or multiple case studies drawn from Africa, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle-East are particularly welcome.
Please submit the following 3 items via email: a 300-word (max.) abstract; a 100-word (max.) vitae paragraph; and an indication whether you require partial travel funding. The items may be pasted as text in the body of the email or attached in a pre-Vista version of Word.
