Akita International University is pleased to announce its international conference on comparative analysis over studies of Japanese politics in the United States and studies of US politics in Japan to be held November 21-22, 2009 at Akita International University, Akita Prefecture, Japan. The conference theme is: American Studies of Japanese Politics and Japanese Studies of American Politics: Comparison and Differences. This conference will combine faculty members of Global Studies in AIU with outside scholars to scrutinize important gaps between Japanese Studies in the United States and American Studies in Japan, with focus on political system, political society, or political culture, and so on. AIU welcomes any paper proposals which deal with the major theme of this conference. Proposals should include a one-page abstract and one page c.v., as well as a list of major publications. Electronic submissions are preferred and should be sent to Itsuki Kurashina at Conf2009@aiu.ac.jp. Submission Deadline: September 20, 2009.
